A Foodie

Dr. Taqi enjoys spending quality time with his family and close friends around a dinner table. His favorite restaurant is located in Westlake Village, CA called Q Sushi. He loves the friendly staff, superior quality of service, and the many healthy menu options. After all, sushi is one of the best foods for a healthy brain!

Fitness

Dr. Taqi understands the benefits of staying active and eating healthy, more than most. One of Dr. Taqi’s hobbies is working out, and to keep things interesting he likes to change up his routine. Outside of going to the gym, Dr. Taqi can be found hiking, on the neighborhood basketball court, at OrangeTheory, or running with his adorable companion, an Australian Shepherd named Penny.

Making an Impact

Dr. Taqi cherishes his ability to help patients, especially when he effectively subverts a potential disaster. When asked if he could recall a time when he performed a treatment on a patient and it deeply impacted their life, Dr. Taqi answered:

That happens every day. But one of the most recent patients I treated was a young flight nurse, who came in with stroke symptoms and a clot in her blood vessel. I removed the blood clot from her brain and repaired her blood vessel. She is now back to her normal self and continuing with flight nursing.”

Fascination with the Brain

Dr. Taqi knows better than most that the brain is one of the most complex organs in the human body. One thing that Dr. Taqi finds particularly fascinating with the human brain is neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity is when the brain adopts, learns, and relearns how to control the body. Dr. Taqi also makes it a point to inform his patients and potential patients about how fragile the brain truly is:

“Damage is irreparable most of the time. Our best bet is to prevent the damage and take care of ourselves. Also, when something is going wrong, DO NOT wait. Time is… our brain.”
