Meet Dr. Radoslav Raychev

Vascular and Interventional Neurologist

Dr. Raychev is a vascular and interventional neurologist and Associate Professor of Neurology at UCLA. He specializes in cerebrovascular disorders and the endovascular treatment of stroke, aneurysms, and other brain and spinal vascular diseases. A third-generation neurologist, he completed medical school at the Medical University–Sofia, Bulgaria, followed by fellowships in vascular neurology and interventional neuroradiology at UCLA.

Throughout his training and clinical practice, Dr. Raychev has developed strong interests in both clinical and basic research focused on the mechanisms of cerebrovascular disease and the development of novel neuroendovascular therapies. His recent groundbreaking work in AI-driven stroke detection has gained worldwide attention. He has authored numerous scientific papers and presented his findings at major international conferences.

Dr. Raychev specializes in the endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke, aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracranial vasospasm, arteriovenous malformations, intracranial arterial stenosis, and traumatic cerebrovascular injury. He believes that successful therapy requires a combination of in-depth knowledge, clinical acumen, advanced technology, and compassionate care. His vision is to impact cerebrovascular disease both directly at the bedside and globally through innovation, research, and teaching.
